I remember those, i never saw them all i only saw the ones my blockbuster had. (the dentist one, and the one with freddy's backstory and trial) it only ran for one season i think. I wouldve watched it though, they were cool. Much better than the friday the 13th series that didnt even star jason:rolleyes:

I watched one of these not too long ago, it was about a talk show or something. I can't really remember it too well but I wasn't too impressed with it.

The episode you are referring to is the one in which Morton Downey Jr. gets killed...Unfortunately, You're right, It wasn't one of the best...However, Don't let that turn you away if you get a chance to see others...If you don't watch them, You will miss out (keep in mind-THEY WERE MADE FOR TELEVISION!)...

I remember Morton Downey being on a Tales From the Crypt episode and dying but not on Freddy's Nightmares. You sure you're not confusing them? The Freddy's Nightmares episode I saw involved a talk show and one of the panelists on the show was a rocker named "Monkey Puke" I believe. Dreams that Kill was the title of the show.

My friend and fellow poster, Tony, bought some of these from Hastings. I guess they re-released them on vhs.

Avenger...You are correct...The episode I was referring to with Downey as a talk show host WAS from Tales From The Crypt ...oops... The episode you were referring to was Dreams That Kill from Freddy's Nightmares...I confused the talkshow host (named Charlie Michaels, played by Dick Gautier) with Downey...One of the guests, from 'Mothers Against Musical Atrocities', hit the host in the head with her purse and knocked him out...Freddy entered through the unconscious guy's head and took over the show as the host, himself...I hope that helps to restore my reputation...I guess I had just picked the wrong 'crouton' from the Horror Salad that is my brain.

Right...now I have been dying to ask you guys this...I have always loved watching the Freddy's Nightmares Series (The follow up to the nightmare on elm street movies) I own all the available series on video and I just think they are pretty bloody kewl!!!

Did anyone use to watch these?? What did you think of them?

I think you gotta see them for what they are...and they are brilliant considering the very low budget they had to make them with...

opinions?:)

they seel them on ebay sometimes thats where i managed to get copies of them on VHS as I use to watch it when it was on sci fi all those years ago...

they are pretty good i reckon...

The very first one has the story of how freddy was killed and stuff in it...which gives a idea of how it all started which is cool

I think I watched like the first 4 episodes, wasn't impressed at all. You can still get the ones that were released on VHS via Amazon, well they ahd them last I looked. There's a DVD in the UK of about 4 eps too. I would buy it if they came out in a box set. I much prefered the Friday The 13th TV show.

I remember Freddys Nightmares.
I know at least SOME of them are available on vhs (anytime you hire it you'll notice the shitty, bent claw on the top of the box), not sure about dvd though.

Ive mentioned this before in a thread way back when, my favourite episode, in fact, the only one I have a clear recollection of whatsoever...however, only in events, not in title.
The story followed a detective investigating a greusome kinda scene at a house. I THINK someone was meant to have been on a killing spree in the same style or something. There at the crimescene was always a chair with a ring of blood on the floor around it. I don't think he ever made that much progress but he tried and tried to figure it out, but there just didn't seem to be ny evidence at all...and then when he'd finally given up, he returns to the crimescene house, starts drinkin' and falls asleep in his chair, he "awakens" in the same room, but really dreaming, freddy appears...some dialogue..., freddy slashes the guys throat and spins the chair around, thus recreating the scene on top of itself.
I remember thinking this was one of the cooler ones. Actually, I never liked many of the rest that much...then again, they never broadcast them all here, only about 3 or 4 as I recall.

About the series on dvd, Id reccomend hitting up ebay. For almost every series that hasn't been released OFFICIALLY, somebody has put together a dvd...MANY complete series out there, that said - I in no way endorse piracy, and only reccomend these means as they are not yet made available to the public by those that would only profit from it anyway. ;)
