I want to hook my computer up to my tv , but I have no idea how. Apparantly I've got the hardware for it.

you need an s-video or rca jack out (usually yellow) on the back of your video card on the comouter - to go to the s-vido or RCA jack in on your TV

Urgeok is right, we used to do this to watch illegal downloaded movies. You then have to fuck with your settings to set up a secondary monitor, but thats easy, youll see when you get there.

So if my tv only has A/V inputs I'm screwed?

it'll look sort of like this but in this case adapters are being used.
the key is : what kind of inputs are on your TV

not really .. there are adapters for everything ... at radio shack:

if you really want to get your best bang out of it ...

run video straight to your TV.

Run audio out from your TV into your Stereo

Run audio from your PC to AUX on your stereo (you'll probably beed an adapter to go from your little out jack on the PC sound card to the RCA in jacks on the stereo

this way you dont have to listen to shitty tv speakers
