This was mentioned in the House on Haunted Hill thread, but to avoid hijacking it, I decided to start this.

I love any VP movie Ive seen, heres a breakdown:

House on Haunted Hill: Amazing Movie, and IMO his secnd best performace. 1st of his that I saw.

Pit and the Pendulum: Best Vincent Price movie ever. Heck, one of the best horror movies ever, period. The scene in Catherines crypt was incredibly chilling!

House of Wax: Very good movie, although I found it to be one of his lesser performances. But the opening with the wax all melting, the museum burning....Awesome

Fall of the House of Usher: Very similar to P&P, however the storyline wasnt quite as strong. Mr. Price's performance could quite possibly be teied for his best.

Dr. Phibes: Although I didnt care much for part of this movie, as a whole it was amazing. A different side of Vincent, he relies much less on his outstanding voice, but when he does speak in this one, it chills the bone. One of my all time favourite horror quotes came from this masterpiece "9 Killed you....9 Shall Die....9 eternities in doom!". Very quoteable film.

The Bat: His charcacter was grossly underused, but this movie was just plain fun. Definatly a great murder mystery, really keeps you guessing, I loved it.

Thats all Ive seen, Witchfinder Gereral[AKA Conquerer Worm] is on order from the library, and should be in before Christmas.

Gah!

I forgot The Tingler! Pretty good movie, ice to see VP as a kinda good guy for a change. And the use of colour was damn good. I only wish I would have seen it in theatres back in the day, with Castle's little shocker thingys.

The Raven: At first, I didnt like it much because I was expecting more of a horror movie. But once I realized it was more of a comedy, I enjoyed it. The only thing I didnt like was the special effects, I hate old special effects. Old movies shouldnt rely on them, they look like shit.

Edward Scissorhands is my favorite movie that he's ever been in

but as for horror, House on Haunted Hill is his best performance, his best horror movie and one of the best horror movies ever. period.

Its hard to say which is my fav. VP movie. I would put it between
The Pit and the Pendulm
The Fly
House of Wax
and
The Dr. Phibes movies

See, I said its hard to say which is my favorite.

On another note, I saw Vincent Price in person at Ball State University many moons ago doing a solo reading of Oliver Twist.

My mom and brother met him when he was in our city doing Edgar Allen Poe Readings. My mom thought he was charming..........my brother, a huge fan....froze like an idiot and said nothing! I of course miss everything.....:(

I like Vincent Price movies what Horror movie doesnt anyway my all time fave Price movie is The Abominable Dr. Phibes 1971. Dr Phibes in 71 was great and its sesquel Phibes Rises Again was also good. But I like the 1st Phibes movie better. As far as kiling goes I think Phibes could teach Michael Myers Jason and Freddy a thing or 2.

Yes I do. It just bugs me to see people who still use the term "n00b". And when he doesn't know how much I do know. I have written a history of both Silent and Classic horror films. If anyone wants to check it out ask me and i'll give you a link to both.

Hi Classic I have been watching horror movies since 1966 when I was 5 years old. Whats weird to say is that when I was 25 back in 1986 I had been watching horror movies for 20 years. I have been now a fan for 38 years this year is my 39th and I am 34 and I will turn 44 in a few months. Alot of the older movies you all talk about I saw growing up at theatres and drive ins.
