Okay, so John Carpenter might remake his own film. Let's hope it goes better than his last time he tried this.

(If you don't know what I'm talking about, Ghosts of Mars was basically a retelling of Assault on Precinct 13.)

its a decent movie. i thought that is was a little scary. the ending sucked though. it could be vastly approved, hopefully the remake will be a lot better

Movies like The Fog don't need to be remade.

It's underrated movies like Sisters Of Death and Don't Look In The Basement that need to be remade.

I dunno, I just dont think this is something that interests me.. I watch the fog maybe once every other year, so a new version would be no different..

Escape from LA was basically a remake of Escape from NY... and I liked the original better.

I love the Fog and have a hard time imagining Carpenter improving on the original. Maybe my imagination is limited though... and maybe I'm sentimental but I hope that he sticks with makeup and appliances and doesn't mess with CGI for the fog monsters. The best part about them is that you can barely see them most of the time anyway.

Have any of you seen Armando de Ossorio's Tombs of the Blind Dead films? The look of Carpenter's fog monsters was very much inspired by Ossorio's knights Templar. Not great films but very beautiful, very atmospheric, very similar to a lot of horror made in Spain in the 60s-70s.

Maybe it's just me but I think the effects of today's standards can really touch up the film nicely.

Anyway, go here for the smilies. Click Here (http://www.mysmilies.com)

I would recommend it. Nothing brilliant, but a good ghost story with a damn creepy atmosphere.

Agreed, the atmosphere is what made the film great. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/lynx/grnsmile.gif
