Is the Demons an anchor bay release ? Is it like Suspiria where the 3rd disc is the soundtrack ?

"THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN" (1977).

A movie I used to hate because it's awful, but I have come to love it, because it's a piece of the 70's and they don't make this kinda thing no more. It's not out on DVD yet in the States, so I bought a ratty old VHS. But, I like VHS, because it is the new vinyl. It's like putting an old LP on.

Down at the bottom of the picture is good old Janus Blythe from "The Hills Have Eyes."

ah .

I have the single disc anchor bay release ... would be nice to get the soundtrack - although in this case it was more metal bands than anything. At least my version has a commentary ...

I watched Deep Red last night .. now thats a soundtrack I'd like to get my hands on.

A whopping lot of "Star Trek" VHS, they had 'em for two bucks a pop at Pic 'n' Sav. Well, at Big Lots. They had the feature films, documentaries, and even the animated episodes from the 70's.

I never really liked Star Trek before, but god dammit, it got hold of me somehow, and now I watch it all the time.

Something Weird's "EXTRA WEIRD SAMPLER" DVD

A bargain for $5.00 at BestBuy--this is something like 3 hours of great trailers (over 100 of them!) of bizarre films! (Most films are from the 60's and 70's, when trailers were GOOD trailers!)

Recommended! Hey, it's got juicy trailers for lots of H.G. Lewis's films.

Then I was looking at racks of cheap movies [Mostly crap] and came across a Lee Van Cleef duster for $2, Beyond the Law. i enjoyed it .. but i'll never be able to get my head around the scene where the one guy is holding one leg against the bathroom door while chopping through the wall ...

they kept the shots short and frantic as to distract but it was still pretty goofy ..

i can suspend my disbeliefe to accept werewolves but once you set up the rules (i.e. the fuckers are strong as hell) it drives me mental to see the rules broken for the sake of a bit of action ..

again, that being said .. it was a fun film.

actually i did way more than i obviously had to because i figured it wouldn't be hard to find so i went across the city to a store which i don't recall the name of that only sells movies and other items associated with movies, but they didn't have it so i went to a couple other stores like it and couldn't find it then i went to Wal-Mart to get the other films i mentioned because i knew they'd be there plus they'd be cheaper. It was the first thing i came across, so I made it hard to find when all i had to do was walk into Wal-Mart.

wow .. its really hard to find up here (Canada)
I lucked on my copy

"Ninja Dragon" - Cheap as cheap thing DVD of yet another cut 'n' paste slice of craziness from Godfrey Ho and his much exploitated actor of cheap choic Richard Harrison.

"Kansas City Confidential" - 1950's noirish thriller starring the great Neville Brand, Jack Elam and a very young (and hairy) Lee Van Cleef, on yet another cheap as a cheap thing DVD.

"God Told Me Too" - Cheapy release of Larry Cohen's unusual horror/sci-fi thriller.

Every year at this time I go out and either rent or go to the theater to see the oscar nominated films (not 100% sure but 97 was my fav year) and it wasn't until I got into blockbuster that I realized that I've seen Ray already and the other four are still at the theater so I just desided since I was already there to blow off the oscar films and just pick up a few movies from blockbuster.

finally picked up some films I've been wanting forever

cool, thanks.

and as for having different taste, concerning horror I'm pretty much genric I think Halloween and the Shining are the best ever and that whoever made Jason X should be covered in blood and thrown in a shark tank. But when it comes to movies outside the genre I probably have different taste than mostly everybody here, for example Chicago is one of my favorite movies and I'm pretty confident that no one else here likes it.

Some interesting movies there.

Don't Go In The House - Pretty good stuff, can't live up to it's one scene of infamy though View (http://www.beardyfreak.com/rvdontgohouse.htm)

House By The Cemetary - fine slice of Gothic Fulci..weird as hell plot though!

I Bury The Living - Big letdown I thought, a great idea wasted. View (http://www.beardyfreak.com/rvbury.htm)

The Stuff - BAGS of silly fun.

Tourist Trap - Very underrated little treat. Nice DVD as well for the price. View (http://www.beardyfreak.com/rvtouristtrap.htm)

Mountaintop Motel Massacre - Okay in parts, not nearly nasty enough though.

Cannibal Man - Behind the wildly inappropriate re-title (no cannibal man here!) lies a solid and well made Euro shocker. View (http://www.beardyfreak.com/rvcannibalman.htm)

what you said about something worth seeing on the big screen referring to Million Dollar Baby, obviously the theater experience is always better but I wouldn't say it has to be seen on the big screen but whenever it's released on dvd, trust me you should pick it up. I know that the Aviator is probably going to win best picture but with all due respect to Mr. Scorsese I honestly think Clint has him beat on this one(this isn't my usual bias opinion about Clint Eastwood)

I took a box of cds and took that long ass hour and fourty-five minute drive to Baton Rouge to get Manhunter and despite the fact that the guy who answered the phone yesterday told me it was there it wasn't, but I hadn't took that boring ass trip to come up empty handed so I got....

DMB in concert dvd
a Clint Eastwood box set that I've never seen before with-Dirty Harry,Unforgiven and Play Misty For Me.
Halloween-unmasked(documentary on the movie)

then I took the 45 minute drive back(90mph:D )

The original had Scott Glenn? Oooo... i didnt know that. he's good :)

May have to check it out.

My most recent purchase was a large bottle of Jack Daniels that barely lasted a week. We have been watching mostly shows we got from Netflix, Sex and the City for the wife, and Farscape for me.

Last night i Saw John get turned into stone, his head cut off, put back on, back to human, made out with some leggy aussie chick, then claudia black. plus there was a lot of killing. i love that show.

Fuck everyone who says it is stupid.

Meh.

I hate L.A Confidential!!! Russel Crowe sucks in almost everything he's done after Romper Stomper (which is infinatley better than American History X) but that's just me a lot of people love those movies.

Fascination
The Living Dead Girl
Creepshow

"L.A Confidential" is one of the finest thrillers of the 90's...and with some of the great thrillers that came out in that decade that's saying something.
Crowe was excellent.

I dont think she is all that pretty, and she is an evil, money grubbing bitch. Sadly, personality plays a much larger role than i care to admit in my attraction to women.

Not that i ever cared for Threes company (or any other sitcom for that matter), but she fucked all of her costars over pretty bad. She practically blackmailed the show's producers into giving her more money, then left anyway.
